1st Annual Paradise Disc Golf Tournament-July 9-11, Crested Butte CO

I am hoping you can help me spread the word quickly on a tournament that the Crested Butte area disc golfers have put together in collaboration with the local Bluegrass Festival and Crested Butte Mountain Resort. There is a wonderful multi-day Bluegrass Festival hosted by Leftover Salmon's Drew Emmett. Two full evenings of quality Bluegrass. In conjunction with the music event we have created the 1st Annual Paradise Disc Golf Tournament to wrap around the line-up. Access to the golf course is via chairlift to 10,300' for an incredible 18 hole course that you'll appreciate! 18th hole drops you right onto the festival venue.

Friday:
12-4pm practice round, course inspection and possible mixed doubles
Saturday:
8am late player check-in
9am player meeting
9:30am load chairlift for 18 hole format tee-off
4pm player party
Sunday:
9am 18 hole format tee-off
3pm awards

Divisions:
(Men, Women) Amateur-Recreation, Intermediate-Advanced, Pro

Cost:
$30 Tournament fee
$5/day discounted lift tickets

This sounds like tons of fun. I haven't play in the Butte. We'll be in Cortez for a Little League tourny. Too bad...

The first annual Paradise Disc Golf Tournament was held this last weekend on Mt CB in conjunction with the Bluegrass Festival. Sponsored by CBMR, Flashflight and Innova Disc Golf. Three days of disc golf with over 50 participants through out the weekend. Junior, Women, Men in Amateur and Advanced divisions played 18 holes/per day competing for prizes. A big thank you to all the local merchants that donated gift certificates and prizes to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners as well as closest to the pin and long drive takers. (Big Al's Bikes, The Alpineer, Teocali Tamale, The Last Steep, The Ginger Cafe, Mikey's Pizza, The Tobacconist, All Sports Replay, Flatiron Sports, The Colorado Boarder, The CB Heritage Museum, Shades, The Gunnison Brewery, Acme Liquors, Blue Moon Books, Rumors Tea House, Three Rivers Rafting)

The tournament was organized and directed by Jeff Scott, Dan Fitzgerald and Pete Sowar. CBMR's trail crew spent a few weeks prior to the event really buffing the course and improving the tee boxes. The course is making strides to the be one of the best in the state. Special thanks to CBMR's Allison Yeary, Andrew Cesati and Mark Ewing's trail crew for the hard work to make it happen.
