Hey all, I guess I have been assigned the running of the election for the next round of club leadership 2009-2010.
We are looking for people who willing to donate a little of their time and minds to further disc golf in the Grand Valley. The last election ballot was mailed to all the members along with a return, stamped envelope. I think there was close to 60 % participation, which i think is excellent. This time, I do not have a current list of members, so unless I get one we will have to do something different.
This election, ballots will be available at the big bagtag event on Dec. 27th.
You get a ballot when you turn in your tag, to be filled out at your convenience, maybe we will have a ballot box there, or you can mail it in. The deadline will be 2 weeks. If you are from out of town and won't be there and still want to vote, get me your address and i will send you one.
Who's on the ballot you ask???
Why not YOU!!!
Here is your chance to enhance GVDGC with your knowledge, spirit, and enthusiasm. Several new members stepped up last election and did their duty. We had a very successful 2 years, with bigger and better ice bowls, States, the Finale, Spook Rounds, the 2 free disc thing, etc. Everyone deserves kudos for their help!
There will be two parts to the ballot. The board of directors consists of President, VP, Secretary, and 2 Treasurers. Please consider running for these positions. Its not that hard. If you want to be on the ballot for the board, you will have to contact me via this forum, telephone, email, or in person. If nobody wants to run, then no use having an election. I will take names up to December 20.
For the officers (4), everyone is open for election, and I will not take you off the ballot unless you specifically contact me and tell me you do not want to serve. I think this worked well as you are voted in by your peers.
Please discuss this with your friends. I will also send an email to people who i think are members with the same info.
See you at the Church of Disc Golf Sunday morning.
