2008 Colorado Disc Golf State Championships
It's that time of year again disc golfers. The 2008 Colorado Disc Golf State Championships are just around the corner. They are being hosted by Grand Valley Disc Golf Club at the Beautiful Palisade, Colorado, Riverbend Park.

Come play the 2008 Colorado State Disc Golf Championships on the Western Slope at one of the best courses in Colorado.

Riverbend Park Disc Golf Course located in beautiful Palisade, Colorado. This course is surrounded by majestic Mesas and the Colorado River, this is a course you do not want to miss playing.

The course is being played in an alternate layout that includes several original holes with a mix of new temporary holes. Your skills will be tested against the mid morning winds, water canals, ponds, OB hazards and the magnificent & unforgiving Colorado River.

Tara Peck Memorial

You DO NOT want to miss this event! This is one of the best tournaments of the year!

Please mark your calendars for Saturday July 26th for the “Tara Peck Memorial Disc Golf Benefit” to be held at Rendezvous Ranch on Glade Park.

(19801 Little Park Road)

A $25 donation will include 36 holes of friendly competition, an awesome lunch, beverages, prizes and a raffle.

Proceeds go to the Tara Peck Scholarship Fund which will help a young athlete attend college in Tara’s memory.

Players meeting at 9:00 am, bring a friend, sunscreen, and good shoes.

Schedule will be 18 holes, lunch, 18 holes, party/prizes/raffle.

Continued Support coming from the Palisade Community

Dragonfly™ Over the last year that I have been involved with the local Disc Golf club I have been pleasantly surprised at the ever growing support that the Palisade community has shown for our sport. Recently I have had the opportunity to talk with the owner of Rapid Creek Cycle & Sports and found that He has been gracious enough to dedicate a portion of his store to, yes you guessed it, PLASTIC. WOOT!!

For the time being Rapid Creek C&S is carrying a decent stock of Innova discs and maps of the valley's courses. Located at 317 Main St. in Palisade makes it the closet place to buy the discs you need/want for a round at the valley's best public course. Many thanks to Rondo and his staff for their support. Stop in and check out the selection of discs. Smile

Big thanks to my friend Ed for the help on this one. We know have a basic area to claim your tag! If you look under the menu under community you will see GVDGC: tags, click on that and you can enter your name and tag number and it will keep track of who ahs what tag. More to come later.

Westlake Park - Spring League

Hey all, a member of the club has taken it upon himself to start up a weekly handicap league. The league will meet every Monday starting April 7th, 2008 until June 2, 2008 @ 5:15 meeting, 5:30 Tee Off. For more information about this event, please click read more below.

The Grand Valley Disc Golf Club requests members and non-members to get out and play league night! If you are a non-member, you need to become a member.
